Today I visited a studio apartment that was for subletting for the next three months. 725/month in a semi-ghetto neighborhood. I check out the area/room, and it's almost too good to be true. Quiet, security patrol at night, bomb parking space, etc. There were, however, three things that bothered me.
1. Person drove a very nice Benz.
2. One of the windows was destroyed "by a neighbor".
3. The apartment was checked out by tons of people (according to him, and I believe him after apartment hunting for a couple months), and none of them took it.
4. Upon asking why he was renting it out, he said he was going out of town for a couple months.
Any thoughts?
Something fishy about it alright.
ReplyDeleteid get it
ReplyDeleteI dunno, maybe check with local law enforcement to see if any crimes have been committed at the address, or what has been reported in the area. It does sound a little sketch.
ReplyDelete(Good luck with it!)
ReplyDeletedid the apartment life and it does suck. lol.
ReplyDeleteI would curious about that.
ReplyDeletego with your gut feeling, it never leads you a stray :)
ReplyDeleteI think it sounds a bit sketchy too. good luck
ReplyDeleteSounds to good to be true, ask around the neighborhood first
ReplyDeleteGood god, I can't imagine paying that. You can get a two bedroom town home for that here. I'd go with Astronomy Pirate's advice. The cops will know.
ReplyDeletesounds good
ReplyDeleteid take it
aww this seems serious good luck with this case
ReplyDeleteoh wow
ReplyDeletethe sad thing is he will find someone one day
I'd take it, even if for the experience of learning to stay away from things that are too good to be true, I know it only took me one class to graduate from that and now I don't even bother.
ReplyDeleteA studio for that much in a dodgy neighborhood under questionable circumstances? No thank you.
ReplyDeleteIf the gut is telling the head something's wrong....something's wrong.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds.. expensive, but i wouldn't know
ReplyDeleteRat problem? :)
ReplyDeleteThats pretty cheap. What area are you in? My friend in San Francisco ispaying 1300 in a semi-ghetto neighborhood for a studio he shares with two other guys. Outrageous!!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I'd pass on that one man. Never go with the first place you see. Especially if it's THAT dang much and is in a questionable neighborhood!
